Chilton County, Alabama - Officers with too much time on their hands!

Chilton County is a rural farming county. Most of the country roads are posted with 45 MPH speed limits. A more reasonable speed limit would be 55 MPH. The sheriff's department doesn't have much to do so they're looking for you. They just love to run those blue lights. These boys are well equipment with the latest and the best vehicles... Crown Vics, SUVs and Dodge Chargers. If you get pulled over, expect to be swarmed by at least two, if not three patrol cars. Like I said, they just don't have much to do. And expect to have your wallet emptied as they extract more taxes in the form of a speeding ticket. Hwy 82 from Centerville, Alabama through Chilton County to Prattville is a practically new highway, recently repaved. It splits into three lanes up and down hills to allow smoother flow of traffic. Posted speed limit, a ridiculous 55 MPH. Most people, including the cops and state troopers drive 70 MPH. I was driving this highway recently when a Florida Highway Patrol car passed me. I was doing around 70. He passed me like a rocket... must have been doing 90 MPH. He apparently was headed over to the state prison in Brent, Alabama. I picked up my cell phone and called the Bibb County Sheriffs Department.. told them about this speed demon... they just laughed and hung up on me! After all. who would dare pull over a fellow cop in a big hurry. But Bibb County is another story. Photos and videos coming soon.
